An invitation is sometimes treated as if it were a document that automatically resolves the issue of travelling to Poland. In practice, its role depends on the purpose of the visit, the applicant’s circumstances and the procedure in which the invitation will be used.
The purpose of the planned stay comes first
A short family visit, a longer family stay and travel connected with work are different immigration situations. Before an invitation is prepared, it is worth confirming whether it is the appropriate document for the actual purpose of the visit.
An invitation does not replace a visa procedure
Where a visa is required, the invitation is only one element of the application. The remaining documentation should still present a consistent and genuine explanation of the planned stay.
The first stage should fit the longer-term plan
If the visit is intended to lead to a longer stay in Poland, TRC Poland Law & Immigration can assess the invitation and visa stage together with the expected residence procedure after arrival.
This material is general in nature and does not replace an assessment of an individual case. In residence and employment matters, the relevant documents, previous course of proceedings and the client’s circumstances may affect the appropriate legal and procedural approach.
