A work permit and a residence permit serve different legal purposes, but in employment-based immigration matters the same employment facts may be relevant to both. Inconsistencies between the two areas can complicate the foreign national’s position.
Each document answers a different legal question
One procedure concerns the right to work under specified conditions, while the other concerns the right to stay in Poland on a particular basis. The fact that one document exists does not automatically resolve the other issue.
Employment information should remain consistent
The employer, position, remuneration and other terms may appear in several documents and proceedings. Changes should therefore be reviewed across the whole immigration situation rather than in only one file.
We coordinate the employment and residence aspects
TRC Poland Law & Immigration handles work and residence matters in a coordinated way where they are connected, including changes that occur after one of the procedures has already started.
This material is general in nature and does not replace an assessment of an individual case. In residence and employment matters, the relevant documents, previous course of proceedings and the client’s circumstances may affect the appropriate legal and procedural approach.
